Welcome to our HomeLink website!
Link to HomeLink exchange.
This website belongs to Hanne Sorensen, Derek Lesher, and our two children, Stella & Thomas. We have made it in order
to share information about ourselves, our apartment and our city of Copenhagen with other members of HomeLink International.
For more information about this Home Exchange organisation, follow the link above.
About Our Apartment:
We have a 90m2 apartment in Copenhagen which is very centrally located and close to all shopping, transportation, shopping,
etc. It is a roomy and bright Co-op flat in a well kept building from 1904. It is a third-floor walk up, so you'll have to
be prepared for climbing stairs, but the street is quiet and the neighboorhood is both safe and lively. We share a large secured
courtyard garden with our neighbooring buildings where there are picnic tables, grills and a playground/games/toys for children.
The apartment consists of a large eat-in kitchen, two bedrooms, a small bathroom with a shower and a living room.
One of the bedrooms is furnished for our children, aged 2 and 4, but we can re-arrange to accomodate 2 adults, instead.
The master bedroom sleeps two in a double bed.
The apartment is comfortably but plainly furnished with all amenities and appliances including washer/dryer, dishwasher,
tv/dvd, computer with broadband internet, etc. We do not have expensive designer furniture, we do have original art on the
walls. We have two bicycles with childrens' seats which you are welcome to use as well as bikes/trikes for small children.
Please use the link, "About Copenhagen", above, to learn more about the immediate neighborhood as well as the
rest of Copenhagen.
About Us:
Hanne works as an Art Conservator at the Danish Royal Library and Derek is a Gilder/Frame Restorer with his own atelier
in Copenhagen. We have two children, Stella and Thomas, aged 4 and 2, respectively. Our favorite passtimes include Art, Film,
Music, Travelling and Dining.
We have exchanged once before with a couple from Cremona, Italy with great success (it counts as one of our best vacations
yet) and so we're looking forward to another happy exchange this summer.
What we love about exchanging is the chance it affords to experience a foreign place from the point of view of the family
who lives there. It's so much easier to get closely aquainted with a new country/city quickly by having one's fellow exchangers
as a resource! To this end, we will also strive to make our guest exchangers' visit as enjoyable as possible by providing
them with as much information and contacts as we possibly can.
Best regards,
Hanne Sorensen and Derek Lesher
